About

Sundur Powder Coatings was founded as a wholly owned subsidiary of Sterling Lacquer Manufacturing Company in 1990 to pursue new opportunities in industrial coatings.  The driving force behind Sundur was and remains Leo Mitchell, a chemist who learned the paint business under the tutelage of his father, the president of Sterling.  After serving as a Naval Aviation Intelligence Officer, Mitchell headed up the Sundur brand and continues to run the company to this day.  In January of 2012, Mitchell purchased the assets of Sundur from Sterling and formed a new company, Paragon Powder Coatings.  Paragon continues the commitment to coatings quality and excellence with the Sundur brand.  The management and technical staff strive to be a leading supplier of tomorrow’s powder technology today.  As such, Sundur enjoys a reputation of providing solutions where others struggle.
